ReplyDeletewell in summary, back in the day lady rulers had to work hard to be considered smart and powerful enough to gain the trust and acceptance of their followers. so various rulers, queen lizzy included, used symbols of minerva within their portraits to advertise the idea that they were powerful like the goddess herself.
